Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

1. Domicile Requirement

Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority must be in possession of the candidate on or before the application deadline.

2. Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025)

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The JKSSB will conduct an Objective Type Written Examination featuring Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Language: The paper will be set in English only.
  • Negative Marking: There is a penalty for wrong answers; one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect response.

To apply for the 390 vacancies announced for 2026, candidates must first complete the One-Time Registration (OTR). Follow these detailed steps to ensure your profile is set up correctly:

Phase 1: Creating Your Account (Sign Up)

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the JKSSB website at www.jkssb.nic.in.

  3. New User Registration: Click on the link that says "New User? / Sign Up".

Phase 2: Completing the OTR Profile

  1. Personal Information: Enter your Father’s name, Mother’s name, and Domicile Certificate details (Certificate Number and Issuing Authority).
  2. Contact Details: Fill in your permanent and correspondence addresses, including District, Tehsil, and Village/Ward.
  3. Educational Qualification:
    • Add academic details starting from 10th (Matriculation).
    • Include 12th, Graduation, or ITI details as per the post requirements.
    • Input Board/University name, Year of Passing, and Percentage/CGPA.
  4. Upload Scanned Documents:
    • Photograph: Recent passport size (20KB–50KB).
    • Signature: On white paper with black/blue ink (10KB–20KB).
